Most channels (CNN and the local ones) are Pro-Israel, but keep this lib views that the war is not against the Palestinians or Arabs, but against Hamas and Hezbollah or whatever. They do bring Pro-Palestinian people to talk too and just let them talk. Channels like Telesur and some others are Pro-Palestine and Anti-Zionism.
They probably will say that Bolsonaro praised Chavez, Castro and other leftist military leaders. But what they don’t understand is that Bolsonaro doesn’t like the politics of these people, but rather respect the fact they were in the military, like him.
Isn’t Lula friends with Castro Hugo Chavez and many other Iberoamerican socialists?
Yes, Lula and the Workers Party are friends with Chavez, Castro, etc… The Workers Party have recently got closer with the CPC, since back in the 1980’s, they used to be Pro-Soviet instead of Pro-China. But that changed during the 2000’s. Lula is moderate but his party is more left than him, but they still have rightist factions inside it together with the more radical left ones.
I think Castro was one of the person that said to Lula to never give up on politics, to continue doing what he was doing because it was only a matter of time before he got elected. And Castro was right.
Tbh, UNASUR was more politically diverse and had both right and left goverments inside it. I think Chavez had his own more leftist subgroup that founded the ALBA. Bolsonaro also took Brazil out of CELAC. Which Lula immediatly rejoined, day one of his goverment.
They also think Bolsonaro is a great anti-imperialist and Lula da Silva is an US puppet because Lula is pro-lgbtq+
There was a long and huge campaign promoted by George Bush and Obama against Venezuela and Chávez using LGBTQ+ groups and NGOs. I don’t believe Chávez was homophobic, but he simply didn’t do much to help or improve the situation of LGBTQ+ people, and the abuses of the police and some of the more reactionary and conservative Chavista politicians continued with homophobic policies.
Then, when Maduro was elected, things changed for the better. Maduro, personally, is pro-LGBTQ+ and started pushing for more LGBTQ+ policies within the PSUV. A few days before Guaido’s attempted legislative coup, Maduro met with LGBTQ+ groups and promised to promote same-sex marriage, adoption and the protection of LGBTQ+ people. But then Guaido fucked up and the attempt to reform the constitution was suspended due to the political instability at the time. And as soon as Maduro accepted LGBTQ+ people into government, the US stopped sending funding to NGOs.
Almost no one uses homo as a slur in spanish or portuguese, in this case Homo literally just comes from Homo Sapiens. Some people (Gusanos who mostly are racist and LGBTQphobic themselfs) claim that Maduro called Milei a homophobic slur recently, but he just called Milei a Pendejo, Asqueroso, Neonazi and Sociopath.
It’s posadas time!
I think Guaido was actually more committed to the bit. Gonzalez literally gave up and signed a document saying he gave up, all he is currently doing is sending cringe whatsapp audios to his “supporters”.
