No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why do cops still ask for registration during traffic stop?
2·2 hours agoVirginia still asks for a registration when you get pulled over. I’ve lived all over the US and been pulled over a lot and not one hasn’t asked for a registration.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What are some life lessons you've learned in your own way?
8·3 hours agoThere are three rules that I live by:
-
Never get less than twelve hours sleep
-
Never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city
-
and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body.
Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

7·4 hours agoIf every base and branch was doing this then I would start shitting peach pits. This is just one base and one engineer brigade. There are many in the US Army. Then you add in the National Guard, it gets bigger just on the Army side of the house.
Standard training, business as usual.

4·4 hours agoI was going to bring up Jade Helm! It also seems like any Robin Sage event ends up by accident coinciding w/ a major geo-political event and the tin foil hats come out in force.
People need to understand, NOTHING happens fast in the US government unless its reactionary. Large scale training or joint training events take months and months to plan.
Yeah I would not want to be the PAO @ Ft Bragg right now!

40·5 hours agoThis annual training is done for all Corp of Engineering groups for each base, timing is a bit unfortunate considering. This training is planned out months in advance to coordinate logistics.
Ellen Pao has the beginning of the end for reedit. Ok when Aaron died was the tipping point, but Ellen was brought in to do the dirt work to keep spez looking good… And it didn’t work, spez sucks
I use a VPN on the alt/clandestine acct, so far so good after a few months. But I only login maybe every 2 weeks to catch up on my hobby subs. Post almost nothing expect to my hobby subs.
I agree, not everyone wants to get a gmail acct or use a real acct like from work for obvious reasons. They keep shooting themselves in the foot and its almost no a surprise the stupid stunts they pull.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Can somedy explain to me the issue with the voter ID law they want to pass in the US?
2·22 hours agoAnother question is why this would be necessary. While Republicans have been claiming that non-citizens voting in federal elections is a major problem, there is no actual evidence of that.

I said I was going fast enough to turn on the cherries and berries. No admission of how fast I was actually going. Just fast enough for him to stop me and to take a shot at his ego.
Its a statie, you’re not getting out of the ticket. So whats the difference?

As an RF engineer and a former WARDriver I want to delve into RFID and how bad the security is.
Since Mythbusters wasn’t allowed to test it and the rash of RFID car thefts I’m pretty sure I’ll end up on another list.

13·24 hours agoOh this is gonna be a fun rabbit hole to go down! Thanks!
Me fucking with cops
I was speeding on a highway and a trooper lit me up.
I pull over and he asks the dumb question “Do you know fast you were going?”
I reply “Yeah, fast enough for you to turn on those lights.”
His face went beet red, he wanted me to say something stupid he can lord over me even though I know I’m getting the ticket. He stormed off after getting my info and handed me the same ticket I would have gotten if I kissed his bloated fat ass.

9·1 day agoBest HVAC tech I’ve ever met, and I work in data centers (yes I will get hate, mine are from the 90’s not this new shit). We had a reefer down he would fix it before we went below FDA temps. Also great at catching issues WAY before they became an issue.

And God forbid you live in states like Virginia. We start seeing more FA/18, Osprey, etc training runs over the Shenandoah Valley and you swear its “Boys, grab your rifles and your boots. We’re going to war!”
Then you check and its a carrier getting ready to set sail and its easier to do test runs when the parts are on base vs in the Med.
And the NG clogging up RT81 running convoy.
