I guess whether a place is better than another place is highly subjective. I’ve been on here for a little over a year, ever since reddit announced they were killing third party apps. I left reddit and never looked back. Personally, I like it here. People are a bit more friendlier, it’s a small community so oftentimes you’re having a conversation with someone you’ve had a conversation with before. It does have some small issues but not enough to abandon the platform.

Kudos to the mods and the programmers making the fediverse and Lemmy a better alternative to corporate social media. You guys rock!

I dunno, something feels different this time. One of my co workers just asked for advice on what country to move to if Trump is re elected.

The reason I think it’s different this time is because this is the same co worker that used to make fun of me for thinking that Trump’s second term will usher in America’s first dictatorship. It ain’t funny now.

I don’t think you are wrong either. I just think that the word partisan might be too strong? Ideally, I’d like my judges neutral, but where do you find those nowadays right?

To me, the things you mentioned lean more towards basic human rights. I don’t think it would be fair to call a judge partisan if he or she rules to preserve those. But I’m just a dude on the internet. Happy Friday friend!
