I would just enjoy for the content to be 80% memes, like imgur in the good old days.

Ironically all the numbers in this meme would’ve made for a better private key.

Never really watched Steward and was only tangentially aware of him from the general internet where a lot of lefties seem to really like him. Then I encountered this skip intro video going into how he might appear to be progressive he is very much bothsiding things, and I question anything about him and his opinions a lot more.

bit coin, NFTs, tech boom, population increase, return of coal power, war with China, methane leak, Peter Thiel, Housing Crisis

We didn’t start the fire music

Haha other way round ofcourse, I am nkt that much of a sadist ;p

I recently convinced a friend to switch from linux to windows, she was already impressed that a program popped up if you just searched the right category, so things could always be worse :)

(tbh a direct name match to the program should be prioritized over a category, agree with you on the settings though)

Hey OP, I looked through the paper you linked in another comment (https://doi.org/10.1007/s00484-013-0660-0) I am unsure if you know but you can access the full thing through Scihub. Look at 2d and h, and look at the error bars around these lines. According to this data maybe it increases risk, but almost just as likely it decreases risk. I think we can be quick to dismiss things that don’t fit into our current scientific understanding. If you’re asking this purely because you are curious and want to know, the answer could be: maybe? It’s hard to really say there are so many other variables ans the effect is clearly quite minor. The authors offer some potential meganisms in their discussion.

If you’re asking because you are concernes for your health, or someone is trying to sell you something, the only reasonable answer is no. As the paper says temperature and pressure give way more signifcant effects, are you going to live in a controlled atmosphere the rest of your life, or control this in some other way? And consider as others have mentioned the mri machine, it gives a way stronger magnetic signal, and hospitals use it on people that already have bad hearts. If there was really an effect doctors all over the world would have noticed don’t you think?

CTT had a video about it I found quite nice: https://youtu.be/hnNjFysodRo In shortv

• if you want to game: bazzite
• if you are a power user: cachy
• for office/regular computer usage: mint

Just checked, and the kings of science communication (mythbusters) have a youtube channel with old episodes chopped up as individual myths: https://youtube.com/@mythbusterstvshow

I really used to enjoy Kurtzgesagt, but they are owned by private equity these days. They are really gazing AI, and one of their recent videos was anti immigrant (I heard second hand though). so could be good content, but if you’re specifically looking for something owned by nice people it’s iffy.

I wrote a bunch below, but I think most of them are probably aimed at a bit older audience, but I figured I would still post it as I really enjoy the channels and perhaps someone will like them :) (I think minute earth and Steve Mould could be suited for someone a bit younger)

• For biology I really enjoy ‘Sage the Bad Naturalist’
• for engineering ‘Stuff made Here’
• physics/electricity ‘alpha phoenix’ (I think his videos are quite technical but they are really good)
• Generally interesting/physics ‘Steve Mould’
• Minute physics, Minute Earth and Minute food
• For math ‘3blue1brown’

I would say that it is fine to moderate for hypothetical five-year-olds, but I think any form of thinking towards anyone needing protectiong from anything but straigh monogamous relations is realy bad.

Thanks a lot, I think these resources will help me a lot, something breaking down all the layers will help understand what is talking to what and why.

Ow that is super exciting, I figured it would be a festure not in line with theil way their map functions (as you need to download everything). Glad to be wrong.

Co-maps generally works good for me, bht the bjg disadvantage is it has no traffic data (I think this might be inherently incompatable with standard foss, would love to be wrong though). So my go to when driving is HERE wego, which works well and is up to date (and not evil as far as I know)

Same for me, last time this was posted someome shared the street complete app which made it really easy to get started. (The website also turned out to be quite easy) https://f-droid.org/packages/de.westnordost.streetcomplete Really satisfying to see your own contribution

They did, and then I put linux on it, so I created the problem I guess. (But struggling a but with office every now and then is better than dealing with windows always)

I really dislike microsoft office, but the unfortunate reality is that it is used everywhere and it is such a disadvantage not to have, onlyoffice works great for me but the risk of things not looking right when sharing with someone with office is quite big. So I really like this progression, needing to run a full windows emulation to get office is a pain.

The broken earth trilogy by NK Jemisin is written in second person, interesting style and a good read. (Fantasy, sci-fi)

Gardens of the moon by Steven Erikson, not really ‘unique’ but he does a lot of show and tell, so if you’re willing to pay attention and think a long it’s a great read. (fantasy)

“Perhaps Marx wasn’t too wrong when he called religion the opium of the people” Lmao, very good
