I would throw that under the same kind of forensic pseudoscience bunk as ballistic matching of bullets and matching pens/pencils to handwriting. A detective may try to scare you with it in an interrogation, but there is no logical way you can get any kind of certainty with that.

Public stories attract ire and inquisitive noses. Having to put together a story (even a shallow lie) also implies that they have an obligation to answer to the public. They would prefer that not be the case, in fact they would rather questioning their work be a crime in and of itself.

It probably falls under making people stateless, which is illegal. MAGA’ll argue that because they’re in custody, that’s not what’s happening, but nothing they argue is in good faith. If they argue to do one thing, they’re planning on doing something twice as bad in a month.

Kind of what I was getting at with my comments. The median standard of living doesn’t have to be bad or even particularly uncomfortable, but it would require everyone who lives above that median to be knocked down to it and be okay with that. Which they won’t. Meaning it will require force.

Westerners eat meat everyday, nearly everyone drives cars everywhere, they buy heaps of cheap clothes and electronics made by slave or near-slave labor, they drink coffee and eat chocolate grown by the same. They go on expensive, polluting and disruptive globetrotting vacations. You think all that and more will stick around in a more equitable society?

I’d bet that they’re at least one step down from what the usual Westerner is accustomed to.

Because when people write manifestos, they are often trying to convince the reader that they are highly intelligent more than they are trying to plainly explain themselves. They are usually a product of mania.

Plenty of job openings with ICE and related gangs, so you would still end up having to deal with them.

Police officers as individuals are generally MAGA. If they were ordered to take up arms against ICE, well more than half would walk off the job by my guess.

Oh, and the mayor would be branded a traitor and be treated accordingly. So Democratic leaders are not exactly lining up around the block to pull that move.

That is the inevitable outcome. Delaying it only gives them the benefit of more time to prepare and consolidate resources, because god knows we’re not cooking up some Machiavellian counterplan to stop them.

Careful appeasement does not work in the end with fascists. People should resist while they still have assets with which to do so.

I think neatly curated propaganda work isn’t quite the same as an internet meme. The Richard Dawkins, Metal Gear Rising definition, perhaps. Internet memes, especially modern ones, have a crude banality if not outright absurdity to them. It’s like saying a funny home video uploaded to YouTube is essentially the same as a theatrical comedy movie release.

I’d go with pitiful mourning because it shook the security apparatus awake, and now any action going forward will be three times as difficult to pull off.
