Yep, I use Dr. Bronners for everything. Especially when camping, when it’s: hair, face & body, toothpaste, shaving cream, dish detergent, bug repellant, emergency lubricant (stuck stoves, tentpole, etc), laundry soap, and anything else I can find to use it for.

10·1 day agoIt’s a start, but there is so much more work to do, and people will need to learn to live with their heads outside of their asses. Sadly most folks seem to think the midterms are the one weird trick that will allow them to shove it straight back up…

Technology@lemmy.world•Pizza Hut's AI system caused 'cascading' problems and $100M in damages, franchisee alleges in new suitEnglish
33·1 day agoThis shit drives me up a wall. The local, formerly awesome pizza place switched to DoorDash for delivery and it has sucked ever since. Pizza arrives cold since door dash drivers don’t have insulated bags, half the time they chuck it on the front porch and it sits there on the cold concrete even longer.
Delivery driver was always a reliable stoner job, I had so many friends in my youth who delivered pizza. Despite the cloud of weed smoke that came with the pizza, it was always hot and fast. They were motivated to get those tips after all.

4grams@awful.systemstoHacker News@lemmy.bestiver.se•Someone Shared a Real Monet Painting as AI and Asked for CritiquesEnglish
20·4 days agoThe problem with AI is not the aesthetics of what it produces. AI can provide good, bad, beautiful, ugly, smart, stupid, etc. What people hate about it is not the artifact, it’s the fact that it took no talent or skill for, but is being claimed as a work of value. Monet spent his life perfecting his style, and did so with likely visual impairments. His art was never about perfection, it was about emotion and a display of what he could accomplish through his life of creativity. Goes the same, even for artists I don’t care for (I’ve always thought Jackson Pollack’s works are unpleasant). I may not like them but I can respect the effort, and dedication.
AI are has none of that. The work was done long in advance, by the vast training materials which is essentially the collective output of human creativity. Also by the people who coded the AI, figured out the math, etc. Now clowns like this fucker come along, manipulate people to prove a “point” that’s utterly pointless in the first place.
God I hate the future we’ve chosen.

3·11 days agoDon’t worry I’m constantly assured that there is no danger to democracy and it will all be fine after the next election.

It’s also the greatest benefit. Vanilla stuff works out of the box for most, but once you need more, there’s a paved runway headed in any direction you want to go (some in better shape than others to be fair).
Windows and OS X are certainly wider runways, but there are cliffs off the side of you want to change direction.
Good things usually take time, but you will know where you are when you get there.
