Why are you surprised when China literally says over and over and over again that they have no intention of violently invading the island and forcing it at gunpoint to reintegrate? They have said over and over for years and years that they will reintegrates their sovereign territory through diplomacy and establishing one country two systems, as they have demonstrated works multiple times over.
