Supposedly all to make a statement about Gaza’s importance, something a lot of Americans actually don’t agree with simply because Gazans are not very easy to sympathize with. And that’s not only because of racism.
How is this any way to talk about… anyone? I don’t need them to be easy to sympathize with, they are automatically entitled to it. Cuz they’re dying. Lets be real clear. Our governments involvement with Israel is fucking awful and Americans have blood on our hands. We can agree or disagree about our own politics but don’t let animosity get the better of you. We are brutalizing innocent people. You and I owe them dignity even if our lifestyles aren’t compatible with theirs or whatever.

Alienating and othering people… makes you no better than a Nazi. Because when your opponent has no face and you’ve already decided their deaths are acceptable to you, other opponents will follow.
