I get that it’s heinous that they sprayed a little girl, but I’ve always been of the belief that kids are no different that anyone else when it comes to this type of thing.
I’m not defending ICE at all by the way.
I’m just saying that a lot of people place emphasis on the wrong thing. A lot of people will place emphasis on it being a little girl, rather than on the fact that ICE is pepper spraying ANYONE who isn’t a threat.
I AM saying it’s reprehensible that this girl got sprayed. Not because she’s young, or a girl, but because she was of no threat to these guys.
If you’re 6, 16, 36, 86, any age. Any gender. Any background. If you’re not posing an actual threat to anyone, peaceful protesting should not be met with pepper spray or mace, or whatever.
But what else do you expect from these wastes of human skin? They try to act like a big hard threat, but they have to hide their faces because they’re all soft scardy cats.
When this is their response to peaceful protests, they force violent protests to become the next step. And there’s an infinate more amount of us than there are of them.
I don’t think most normal people would disagree that it’s reprehensible to tear gas nonviolent protestors, regardless of age.
I think the reason you see things like this is not because people are thinking “how DARE they gas that young girl!? I think we should only gas 18+ people instead 😠”, but they’re making the point of “these people are willing to stoop so low, that not only will they teargas innocent people, but they will even do it to a child.”
They’re not saying it doesn’t matter when it’s done to adults, they’re saying that it being done to children shows how low they are willing to stoop, past even the point of gassing adults with no ability or intent to harm them.
Kids are different. They cannot possibly be a threat (with rare exceptions) so the cops can’t twist the narrative
Imagine if someone said “guys, pedophiles shouldn’t be raping ANYONE!”
Does that illustrate for you how weird this comment is?
