So I was just thinking, the way I look at PieFed is that I like to have the main site up, when I find an article I’m interested in I center wheel click it to open it in a new window and then keep going to find other articles. I then go look at all of the articles one at a time and then come back to the main website.

My thought is, what if hovering over the topic, or clicking it, caused a fly out. So the page splits and shows the article on the side or in a box hovering over the topic. A lot of times I just like to see the comments really and if I want the article then I just click through. But most times it’s just to get a summary or make a quick comment. Think email client. Show the topics on the left and then clicking it opens the topic on the right.

Just a thought.

Yeah, Zen does this. Zen is a Firefox fork. It’s nice. I should look and see if there’s a keyboard shortcut to open a link in split screen.

Middle click -> ctrl+alt+v -> to close the split, click in the second panel (the one you want to close) -> ctrl+w

Keybinds can be changed in settings

MILLION upvotes for this! This is excellent! Thank you so much for the suggestion! That’s awesome. I have a split keyboard, so definitely going to change that in settings, but SUPER cool! Thank you SO MUCH! :)
