Is that possible? Where I live the ps5 pro is $1k but a gaming computer with the same power will run you $3-4k you can’t really compete

You severely misunderstand what that hardware is. There’s ready few videos on how to make a PC in that price. JayTwoCent is probably one of the better ones.

Am genuinely curious, because saying “it’s true” isn’t a source, nor has anyone given a source other than downvotes to OP. If sources cannot be backed up, they’re not true, especially on Lemmy.

Newegg.com. Any build with a 6800 or better, 8 core CPU and 16 GB Ram.

              https://www.ign.com/articles/playstation-5-pro-vs-playstation-5-specs-performance-compared

Author of that article produced a PC for about $867 iirc that rivaled the pro.

The pro doesn’t include a stand $30 or a disk drive $60. A drive for the PC is under $20. This is all USD.

If you want to play online that’s another $120 per year for PlayStation.

When you start adding up all the little expenses and then factor in that a PC can do 100 things a console can’t, it’s going to be a better investment in the short and long run to get a PC over a PS5 Pro

Also no source for this because you can take a calculator and figure it out yourself

Are you sure? A RX 6600 XT is about 200€.

4000 buck would about twenty RX 6600 XT: with that amount of GPU you play… Blender’s render in realtime.

Sorry, but I live in Canada as well and have built several computers myself. These numbers you’re citing are BS.

            I DON’T WANT TO BUILD A COMPUTER.

No more than I want to build a ps5. We’re talking about a ready to go machine off the shelf.

Nobody who isn’t a niche PC gamer wants to build a PC. It’s a pain in the ass and I don’t want to hear another comment saying it isn’t cause I don’t wanna hear it. I DON’T WANT TO BUILD A PC

'fraid you got no option but take whatever spank Sony had planned for you, then.

Nobody who isn’t a niche PC gamer wants to build a PC

Yeah, Nvidia will certainly shutdown in the coming weeks, sorry to see them go under. But I guess their business is too niche for all the R&D spending clearly beyond the Sony.

(Put this /s here, just in case)

I don’t know how it works in your market but here, the major hardware retailers will assemble your machine for an extra 80 euros or so.

Sorry for the confusion, I mean as the value around 2nd hand owner market: which, contrary to console, is always an option for parts for next generation gaming. I know Japan is not that much in 2nd market and buy pre-owned thing: I wonder if PC gaming would encourage them into this option, since it’s so much widely known thing in the PC gaming industry.
