I am a full time Mlem user, absolutely love the app. I am not looking to replace it, however there is currently no development for being able to manage your media within the app.
I would also like to find an app that can save posts and comments as drafts. This is not a deal breaker however and would only be looking at that if it has media management.
Arctic has a ‘Manage Uploads’ feature for all content uploaded using the app, but unfortunately the app hasn’t been updated in a year and a half. There’s lots of Arctic features I wish other apps would adopt, since in some ways they have yet to surpass it.
Blorp supports draft posts; not sure if any others do though.
Blorp dev here. If Arctic supports manage uploads then that means the Lemmy API supports it. So me adding that to Blorp is not outside the realm of possibilities. Most of the time, I’m just waiting for users to voice the features they want.
The photon web interface has a tab which allows you to upload and delete images. Arctic only manages images uploaded via the app.
I used to use Arctic, and even back when it was being developed the uploads section did not work well.
I have used Blorp in the past, but afaik it does not allow managing of uploads.

Before iOS 8 (or whatever version added custom keyboards), you could get custom keyboards, but they weren’t real keyboards. They were custom apps where you’d type what you want in an editing window, and then copy and paste the text, tab back to whatever window, and paste.
Hanx Writer — actor Tom Hanks’ typewriter fetish app — still does this. You can pay to get the typewriters as apps, but mostly, it’s its own thing. It’s meant to be a typewriter simulator with all the noises and whatnot — and no delete key.
I’ve gotten a bit sidetracked, but there’s a point to be made here. You could be using something like Notes to make drafts of posts and comments. In iPadOS and macOS, there are better shortcuts, but on iOS, your best bet is to add “Quick Note” (from the Apple Notes app) to your Control Centre, and compose your notes there.
I suppose your problem is (as with mine, too often) that sometimes when you go to post, the instance you’re on is down or being slow and the app times out. I use Mlem too (the one in TestFlight) and though I haven’t had this problem in Mlem, I’ve had it happen plenty of times on the desktop. Fortunately, I can usually copy and paste the text — I’m old school, I’m just gonna open TextEdit and put it there, knowing full well (now, not in the heat of the moment) that TextEdit won’t save unless I tell it to. I should be using Apple Notes, which not only saves automatically, but it syncs to my iPhone.
Not sure at all what you mean by media management. I feel like that was your main point and it’s not something I’ve ever thought of. So, good luck!

Through the web interface there is an upload tab which shows all of the media you have uploaded. You can delete files, or copy the link to an image so you can share and not have to upload a repeat image.
