Any site that bans an anime because of the girls’ ages in the show is full of hypocrisy. They pick and choose which shows and girls are inappropriate and aren’t consistent about it. Especially when they allow sexy shows based on real children (Cuties).

I think they’re doing a major disservice to actual victims by comparing them to cartoons. (emphasis mine)

Hot take: people who get upset over young characters in anime and compare it to pedophilia are actually the fucking worst. They don’t actually care about real children or real victims of real sexual abuse, they only want to ride their high horse on a bullshit tide of false self-righteousness. Their sense of indignant justice and ego is inflated further by not only looking down on the concept as a whole, but also associating all anime fans with it, and thus looking down on them too.

It’s really very hard to have a proper conversation on the limits of actions that can be taken. Like, how can someone push back on overreaching/unreasonable measures without being accused of being an enabler or a perpetrator?

I’m having a real hard time giving you and everyone else in this thread the benefit of the doubt but maybe I’m misunderstanding. Are you and the other commenters upset because this site banned an anime depicting sexual behaviour between children?

Do you support Loli? It’s odd to me you seeming to think people get upset over “young people in anime” (which should honestly read, anime depicting minors in a sexual or lewd manner) is because of some sort of superiority complex rather than, you know, people objecting sexually suggestive content involving children. Am I missing something or is this situation how it appears at face value.

I’m not talking about any of this, I’m talking about a very narrow scope here that you even quoted at the top of your comment.

Ok, so your problem is with people likening ANY anime with children to pedos specifically as opposed to anime with actually sexually suggestive content involving children? I ask primarily because you haven’t really elaborated, at all. If the quoted remark made your position clear to me I wouldn’t really need to ask for clarity.

If I seemed combative, I apologize. I appreciate you engaging in good faith. It is a rarer and rarer sight to see on social media.

Yes. I see this sentiment a lot and the sheer stupidity of it exasperates me to no end. Not only does it seem to me like it’s a position that arises from people unable to differentiate between fiction and reality, it also irritates me because it actually diminishes the severity of child sexual abuse IRL.

All good, I get how the internet can be sometimes. Appreciate that, your shout out made me glad I did and glad I ignored my instinct to be snarky. Ahhh ok that makes sense, must have been the wording that threw me. Thanks for taking the time to humour me.
