PieFed 1.6.x doesn’t support video embeds using the
![]()format, just images. However, I recently added this functionality so that it will be in 1.7 when it comes out. There are going to be lots of improvements to the markdown parsing coming in 1.7.Edit: My instance is running the latest 1.7.x code (not stable yet), but below I have added an embedded webm video. You will probably need to click to see my comment on my instance in the three dots menu.

Heavenly Delusion. It was a great show that sadly has had no season 2 announcement. I started the manga after it aired though, and that has been great as well.
Maybe it will be bundled with Half Life 2 episode 3?
Piefed.social also does not show it, Lemmy.world shows. All three use the same url in the source

A list with 4 entries: The video that didn’t show in markdown, a video from another site with the same syntax, again, but named, then an image, same syntax.
If the comments get parsed the same as posts, then there’s something with markdown.
Videos work on Blorp, so it seems it’s not a Piefed-specific issue. Though for some reason the c/politicalvideos community on .zip doesn’t load with Blorp.
Both work when clicking on the link in voyager.
Opening in browser works for the db0 link.
Opening in browser the piefed.zip link does not work (doesn’t even show a video player or thumbnail image).
