Not your problem, but I’m just asking you since you brought it up - what’s the point of pancake mix? Pancake batter is literally just flour, eggs and milk

I can whip up pancakes from a mix in 5 minutes without a single brain cell activating. It’s a good emergency ration in the pantry.

Like when you REALLY want pancakes at midnight. Now. 😀

And sugar, salt and baking powder.

If you do no other baking and just want to make pancakes, buying powdered mix is easier to manage. plus there’s less measuring at the beginning of a morning meal.

I’m a bit of a baker, I like to keep 10 or 20 pounds of flour on hand, and I’ve been known to make 5-pound batches of homemade pancake mix because I ain’t measuring baking powder while the coffee is still brewing.

That’s not how pancakes are made where I’m from. We have flat pancakes here, more like crêpes (but a bit thicker than that)

I make pancakes for the kiddos almost every day. It is amazing. I also put a crap ton of chocolate chips in them.

If you think you’re doing your children a favor by feeding them junk/setting them up for diabetes, you’re not. If you really love your children, do things the hard way and the right way and feed them healthy.

Ah, the dichotomy of Dad groups vs Mom groups. You’re judging @[email protected] entirely on one tiny happy insight into their life. Maybe their kid has underweight struggles and calories are calories. Maybe by everyday they mean everyday they have them every other weekend, but that’s too painful to say. You don’t fucking know, and this isn’t a life advice thread. Celebrate they have a kid they want to be involved with.

Calories are absolutely not calories. Being underweight is not a free pass to the buffet. The habits we create for our kids will become lifelong struggles. Normalize healthy eating and help them learn to make good choices.

Calories are calories when you have end stage cancer and trying to keep on the weight for the next chemo.

I’m sure in the last 50 minutes you took your children to the doctor to get full comprehensive blood screenings to come back and report that to us. Great.

Yes I’m taking a moment to project my own issues here because I could have had a beautiful first 20 years if my parents hadn’t nutritionally fucked me up. It took me another 10 to 20 years to fix that. every child deserves a good start. It really sucks to spend the rest of one’s life undoing the damage our parents did.

That does honestly suck. I’m sorry that happened for you, bud. I have some issues with my parents that I’m still working on, it’s tough.
