12 year old account got permabanned for telling a Nazi off. But even before this happened I’ve noticed how much reddit has dropped off the last few years compared to when I discovered it.

    It didn’t start as an echo chamber. Initially it was one of the few places online a progressive minded person could go and feel like they could express their opinions openly. And by “progressive” I mean both left and right leaning ideologies.

    Which, funny enough is now a foreign concept. We call everyone on the left “progressive”, even though Biden and Kamala are clearly conservative Democrats. And we call Vance a “conservative” even though he’s clearly a progressive Republican.

      Yep, absolutely. I lean right but fucking hate Trump. On lemmy I can say that, on old reddit I could say that, on current reddit I’ll get really nasty, hateful remarks and almost zero open dialogue

      reddit holding to subs, like conservative, and a different donald sub+cospniracy, newnormal, trueunpopularopinion was a red flag.
