Isn’t it “eat dust”?
you shoot a man in a duel in the dirt road and he falls face first into the dust, you would say he ‘bit the dust’.
‘eat my dust’ is the variant for leaving someone behind you on the dirt road where they encounter the dust kicked up by your passage
