As an aside, one billion percent you want an organised civilisation. One does not want to make everything they need by hand. Automation and specialisation are amazing things. People think they’re smart and strong enough to grow all their food, make their clothes, build their home and ALL their furniture, defend their shit, heal their medical problems, educate their children, and entertain themselves. hunting can be incredibly cost effective. at least in Canada. You pay for your license, and shot. I know a number of hunters whose first gun was a gift, so there’s a good chance, you don’t HAVE to buy a gun if you’ve got the right community.
The hunters I know go to private areas where they’ve developed relationships with the owners. They’ll go for water fowl, deer, and rabbits at these usually farmers fields.
Explaining how some people do it cost effectively doesn’t mean that I’m condoning it.
