Ever wonder how small barn owls are at hatching?
This little one is approx 4 to 8 hours old. Hatched sometime between 2 am and 6 am.
We were brought a nest of eggs that fell in a hay barn when hay bales were being moved. We got the eggs into our incubator, and this was the only egg to grow. Sooooo tiny compared to adults! Affectionately named Jester, since today is April 1st
