I have a similar-ish problem, but on qutebrowser. If I interact, I get a similar text overlay of a piefed homepage, so i have to reload the page and then it does not happen. problem is that i can not reliably recreate it, with each page it is pretty much 70-30 odds of happening vs not happening. never got it in librewolf (firefox). thought it was a caching related issue, so cleared all of site data, also cleared all qutebrowser data once too. relevant things in config are dark mode, and a css to make backround black and text white (i can share it, just do not think it is very relevant because i have seen it happen without that css)

If i remeber correctly, the current approach is each device/vendor family is free to choose how they want to move. for example, gpu folks are actually interested to do rust stuff (for example novo, tyr by redhat,collabora). there may be some families who do not want to move fast.

I am sorry but I am not good with legaleese. i am not a web dev, so please correct me if i am wrong, but a runtime is essentially a specific version of browser in some capacity, more comparable to blink in some sense (minus the html+css parts). so there is a js engine (v8 or firefox’s spider if i am not wrong) and that essentially just executes the js, but it needs stuff around it (think for example io or cli interface). none of the run times implement independent js engines, as they are really hard, but surrounding stuff is relatively easier, and likes of deno/node/bun implement that.

And as other commenter said - it has other stuff too, for example a package manager, transpiler (most common would be converting typescript to js i think), bundler (just makes a bundle kinda like java jar), etc.

that is like asking someone to write x86 to arm instructions (i gave a instruction set related example to someone else, so was in the mood, no other reason to pick architectures)

I checked the wiki page, and apparently all of einstein’s work should be puclic domain now. I think most of his papers already were open access or readily available, but now they should be public domain as well.

I do not know what is piefed’s policy on using readymade libraries (i know they are really lean on stack, but if i am not wrong, this library would be really light, and will likely just need a database to store the key (likely the passwords db)

Sadly, currently the situation is very bad. I was a searxng user till maybe last month, and now you basically can not use it. google returns nothing, ddg rate limits shortly, brave does same, bing and yahoo return random gibberish. startpage, leta and many other frontends return errors.

It is kinda wierd that gotosocial is more expensive than cheapest mastodon tier, considering it is computationally lighter (atleast that is what it’s intended goal was iirc). Maybe they can experiment around reducing the system usage for it (maybe cut in half).

For me personally - I am interested, but cost is high for me. if I could do something like 20-30$ for full year (so 2-2.5$ bucks a month), that would be great. I know that is a lot less, but for plebs like me - do not even get me a domain name (and save a 1-12 bucks a year), just a subdomain works (for example user.fedihost.co or something), just a gotosocial instance (maybe 0.5 to 1 gig ram or at most 2 gigs. 1 shared virtual cpu, 5 gibs storage, and even a cdn is not required). I think that would be close to bare minimum system usable, and also within reach for most people (i live in a third world country, even 5 bucks is like a days work for more than half the nation.)

tbh, i got the meaning correct in first read only. seemingly, only 1 comma (one before ‘after rescue …’) should fix it, or at least make it better. you could also replace the earlier ‘after plunging’ with who plunged/fell and that will also (arguably) improve readablity.

I completely trust you that you tasted a mushroom and spat it, to live and tell the story to me, but what you are saying is that a certain mushroom requires a certain amount to kill a person. firstly i do not know how was that number found (as in ingestion or directly shooting it’s extract to blood). when you ingest, you do not absorb anything, and there is a potential that directly exposed will require a lesser critical dose. and beyond that - toxins do not require digestive pathways.

the number is most likely calculated by measuring the amount present in a failed organ (in a dead patient mostly) and scaling to whole body and asking from surrounding folks how much they ate, and then matching with toxin concentration in mushroom. this lethal amount is not same for direct blood stream exposure.

you possibly want to say something like - mushrooms do not have enough to kill you just from touch or chew/spit, but not will. will suggests that there is some specific reason that either mushrooms can not produce enoug toxin to kill you from touch.

I would still stand by my original statment that it is stupid to expose contact or chew/spit. I am not saying you are stupid, I hav willingly tasted/sniffed many chemicals (not safe ones), but that is more of a decision (as in for learning purposes like you did for taste or for fun(that i do mostly)). It does not make that activity safe.
