I don’t believe you. You just lack the patience. It’s easier to sit back down and watch youtube than to try to juggle for 10 Minutes. I know, it can be a long time, but it will come back. Did you try with two for a few minutes? Patience, my friend, patience!

Even better during long, boring conference calls…
Juggling is so much fun, if you never tried it you should start immediately. Bring a little bit of patience and you can master 3 balls quite fast. Plus point: it does really good things to your hand-eye-coordination and you will be surprised how much your reflexes can improve with a little bit of regular juggling. Highly recommended!
Do you mind crossposting this to [email protected] ? This is just so damn precious.

13·12 days agoSteamrolling schools is from the Microsoft Playbook. They started this with their abysmal products 2 decades ago. I happen to know this because I worked in school IT for 10 years. Giving away your software to the underpaid education system presented two major advantages: bind the young ones to your environment while showing state officials how much your business is “interested in education”. And make lot’s of money by fooling every decision maker in the process. It’s a dirty play and I saw some very nasty deals, very close to corruption. Apple does this as well, handing out tablets left and right. And now we will get a package with ChatGPT, fantastic.

Trees@lemmy.world•Please share some good resources and guides for growingEnglish
4·13 days agoOnce you do this long enough, you can write a book or two about getting started… Here are my personal favorites:
- Cannabis is a weed. It will grow everywhere, if you let it. (Most important part. New growers often overdo it, slowly killing their plant with love. Just let it do it’s thing and wait)
- Make sure you understand the basics about substrate, light, heat and cycles of growth. Get a cheap LED growlight. Don’t bother with soil/coco, start with hydroponics (it’s very easy for beginners).
- Don’t invest too much money in your first grow. It will come over time.
And, of course, make sure you don’t do anything illegal…or do it, I’m not your father.

12·13 days agoGrowWeedEasy - Probably the best beginners guide on the interweb
Growdiaries - Nice pictures and lots of good info (would be cool with federation…)
SeedFinder - Strains and stuff, database with growers and sellers
Check the big seed companies websites, they have very good blogs and wikis with lots of info.

Ukraine@sopuli.xyz•Breaking: Zelenskyy Counts Record 25,000 Russian Losses in October—Pokrovsk Turns Into a Mass GraveyardEnglish
1·24 days agoMy problem with this thought is: what is Putin willing to do if he is backed into a corner? My biggest concern in this whole mess.
Mine broke twice in 3 years, exactly the same part. Not sure if I want to repair them a third time. I love the idea that you can repair everything, but at some point it’s just too expensive with the shipping and all.

Europe@feddit.org•Bavaria wants to move to Microsoft cloud by year-endEnglish
123·24 days agoReminder: Microsoft relocated their headquarters to Munich after they scored the win to abandon LiMux, the first OSS project in a big city. This is just the return on investment. Works very well in a state that doesn’t care for high level corruption.
Edit: Bavaria also meddled with the decision to adopt Open Document Text as defacto standard in Germany. My memory is a little bit blurry on this and internet search for older articles is just…non-existent anymore.
Anyway, that decision was reversed .
Edit 2: There might be something else going on in the background as well. Lidl/Schwarz and SAP are going heavy on the “German Cloud”. They are both from Baden-Württemberg, another power-player in the south. This almost looks like a standoff.

33·26 days agoThe German government said in October that it would take over the payment of some 11,000 local employees at US military facilities as a show of good faith, anticipating repayment when the shutdown was resolved.
What about this? Hoping to get the money back from the current administration seems…naive…

That is spot on! I grew up in the 90s with mixed joints, I can’t smoke pure herbs without throwing a fit. It is somewhat tolerable with a good vape and long hardened homegrown, but I still prefer my oldschool bong-mix. At least we have active coal filters these days…

Here’s a problem. Schools are full of them. They are really, really good for that specific field. People only think about their private use, but education will suffer the most. Or taxpayers, because they have to pay the bill. Again.
