2·27 days agoIdk but I just kept tapping the profile button and then it just started working lmfao
You’re right, this is the first app I’ve seen that actually does not show a crosspost menu, the absolute irony that it’s the official Lemmy android app lolol
Maybe if I have some time this weekend I could fix it myself and see if dessalines will merge it lol
Can I ask why you stick with Jerboa? Years ago I used it because it was the most functional at the time of the great Reddit migration, but it was so buggy I stopped using Lemmy altogether for like 2 months until Boost came out

1·27 days agotheir content serves mainly to broaden their reach. I don’t think you’re making things better.
When I started this campaign months ago I had to go back 8-10 pages of the local .ml feed each morning for crossposting. Today, it’s down to 1.5-2 pages and the bulk of that is from like 2 hardcore Tankie/.ml users (yogthos and Geneva) so I’d say it’s been more helpful than bad
Moreover, your posts are so fast and frequent that they dominate at least some of communities that you target, often leaving local subscribers without a chance to post about the relevant topics on their own. Having watched it happen for more than a few weeks, I have concluded that your posts are mostly annoying, and probably do more harm than good.
I don’t expect to convince you to stop, but would you at least consider delaying your reposts by a day, and then proceeding only if nobody in your targeted community has already posted about that topic?
Can you give me some examples? A lot of the comms I post to I’m like the only one posting to. But there are some larger comms I feel like get a heavy hand of it, but bigger comms also have 2 or 3 alternatives across different instances
So maybe a better solution would be to just divvy it up amongst similar comms better?

Lol I remember the buggy mess that is Jerboa, even now I installed it fresh to login and check the crosspost for you and…it crashed and reopening it works and shows logged in but I can’t do anything because apparently my account is being verified lmao

Jerboa is essentially alpha maybe beta, and dessalines has stated he doesn’t have the time to work on it between Lemmy server and Lemmy UI

2·27 days agoDon’t worry, I don’t crosspost anything that’s transphobic or propaganda or that weird…spam post that shows up from time to time…
It’s a big reason why I can’t bot it lmao

2·27 days agoWell sure, it’s not foolproof, but the vast majority of users are probably not using the default Lemmy UI (because it kinda sucks lol) and instead are using an app or other front end.

2·27 days agoTaking content from them, doesn’t support their instance in any way. Upvoting, commenting and posting on comms on their instance does. Which I don’t do and by cross-posting content away onto non.ml comms it reduces their activity bit by bit but revitalizing other similar comms

1·27 days agoThey display, in a separate submenu, increasing friction. It’s well known in human behavior/UI design that every additional click for the average user reduces the likelihood they’re just going to click it for no reason

2·27 days agoYes, how horrible of me to warn you of someone who is transphobic.
Well this is what Nutomic, second head Lemmy dev and .ml admin has to say about the LGBTQ+ movement [Transphobia CW] https://lemmy.world/post/18236068
