Alan Turing invented computing and helped defeat the nazis, but Britain still chemically castrated him for being gay. This is the baseline of government interference you’ve been raised to believe is normal or at least explainable, and you are attacking a country whose human rights record is way, way better than that.

You’re right it’s way more cruel and arbitrary
“Oh I was just disagreeing” no you weren’t you were equivocating the two like a dumbass and now you’re pretending you weren’t because even you can see it’s a stupid equivalence to draw.
Stalin was the single champion of Khorne in charge of the Soviet Union but at the same time was powerless to stop the massive quality of life improvements resulting from the government policies ordered by…somebody?

I remember the period when that number reached 3,000 and it was literally 9/11 every day. It might seem like a silly comparison, but seeing how one was immediately turned into a grotesque, maudlin display of narcissistic injury by our government to justify attocities while the other, way worse one was just inflicted on us by those same people as a matter of course. Really made me understand the reality, how some lives are valued while billions are written off. All those Palestinians are just an abstract statistic, but we must stop the world in its tracks to mourn Bryan Thompson and Charlie Kirk. It’s kind of like what this person is doing actually. “Sure my idea of normalcy floats atop an ocean of blood that i refuse to acknowledge, but the people who stepped up to change that fact committed the unforgivable crime of making the butchers bleed!”
Your defense of them is what, that they were simply following orders?

The very words are like cool water poured over my brow. That’s exactly what’s gonna happen, and you and me are gonna watch. You with diamond-crushing blood pressure, me with my big “Ansar Allah #1” foam finger, we’re gonna watch the wheels of history turn.

Stubbing your toe and being eaten by hyenas “both suck”, but you are smoking crack if you think one isn’t obviously a million times better than the other.
I have much more respect for this answer, which is ideologically consistent, than what I was expecting, which was for some liberal to go “Scandinavia”
Our good law abiding society, their authoritarian regime
Yes, it’s the people with a reading group who are ignorant and not the people so historically vapid that they recently let a bunch of Epstein associates convince them to support a second Holocaust.
AFTER, mind you, getting tricked by those same pedophiles a few years earlier into supporting actual nazis in Europe, with swastikas and tiki torch marches and everything. We warned you guys then that you were being slow-boiled into fascists, but predictably you were too vain and high on nationalist bloodlust to listen. Same as it ever was.
“In the United States, for over a hundred years, the ruling interests propagated anti communism among the populace, until it became more like a religious orthodoxy than a political analysis. During the Cold War the anti communist ideological framework could transform any data about existing communist societies into hostile evidence. If Soviets refused to negotiate a point they were intransigent and belligerent; if they appeared willing to make concessions, this was but a skillful ploy to put us off guard. By opposing arms limitations they would have demonstrated their aggressive intent; but when in fact they supported most armaments treaties it was because they were mendacious and manipulative. If the churches in the USSR were empty this demonstrated that religion was suppressed; but if the churches were full this meant the people were rejecting the regime’s atheistic ideology. If the workers went on strike (as happened on infrequent occasions) this was evidence of their alienation from the collectivist system. If they didn’t go on strike it was because they were intimidated and lacked freedom. A scarcity of consumer goods demonstrated failure of the economic system; and improvement in consumer goods only meant that the leaders were attempting to placate a restive population and so maintain a firmer hold over them. If communist in the US played an important role struggling for the rights of workers, the poor, African Americans, women, and others this was only a their guileful way of gathering support among disenfranchised groups and gaining power for themselves. How one gained power by fighting for powerless groups was never explained. What we are dealing with is an unfalsefiable orthodoxy so assiduously marketed by the ruling interests that it affected people across the political spectrum.”
If the communists have many prisoners, it’s for no reason other than being evil. But when in fact the communists don’t have that many prisoners, it’s because they’re so evil they just killed everybody. How they got anything done despite supposedly killing everyone was never explained.
Lol you’re gonna be one thousand and one if you keep being so cringe, now run along and make a post crying about how the terrorist commies threatened you
What year? It wouldn’t happen to be immediately before, during or post ww2, would it? Because west Germany and the Gladoi-style nazification of capitalist Europe are the perfect counterpoint to show why you have to execute nazis.
Do you dismiss the very concept of Badguyism?
“I, the arbiter of credibility, have decided this claim is self-evidently ridiculous for reasons I don’t need to explain”
Hannah Arendt
Lol, of course

Comments like this make it painfully obvious that someone has not engaged with the actual history, because guess who agreed with you that lip service is not enough? The communists. Life expectancy, infant mortality, nutrition, medical outcomes, literacy, addiction rates, poverty, all of this shit immediately improves drastically in every time and place communists have ever seized power. Often these improvements have come despite nightmarish wartime conditions, such as during the Chinese Revolution when life expectancy shot up despite being in active combat with Imperial Japan after 20 years of civil war. The people of Cuba have created one of the most advanced medical systems on earth despite sixty years of strangulation. The people of the USSR risked their safety to send weapons to uprisings across the world despite needing every bullet themselves for the near century of fascist invasion and expansion that ultimately took thirty million of their lives.
The idea that communists are secretly only pretending to care about other people is the single biggest piece of capitalist projection, and the one most foundational to holding up other myths about communists. Every abuser in history has said all the same things the white empire drills into our heads: this is just how the world is, everyone else is just like me or worse, so there’s no point in looking for better. But in reality, Cuba has no Gates Foundation. Laos has no Mr Beast. Our economic system is the one set up to reward and incentivize exploiting people you pretend to care about, not theirs. To look around at the very specific, grotesque circumstances created by capitalism and attribute it to some universal axiom of human society is what having an imagination trapped by capitalist “realism” looks like.
This attitude of “well everyone is shit” is one of the last layers of refuge before you get to the truth: that we, westerners raised in a culture of advanced imperialism, are specifically and deeply sick, that we have forcibly exported this sickness across our planet and we desperately need drastic mass change and healing before it kills us all.
