I don’t think we’re poorer because of the weather

I think we’re poorer because of a small group of idiots who think they can own all the money

People really don’t understand how much wealth is being siphoned off the middle class.

Our technology is advanced enough that we can provide everyone on the planet a very comfortable life. Basically a European middle class lifestyle, but with less meat and air travel than the average European has today.

The fact that we don’t is because of greed.

We totally will be poorer because of climate.

Extreme weather phenomenons like draughts, floods, extreme rain, etc will become more numerous, destroying crops and property, plus new plagues are gonna spread, stuff like that. That’s gonna cost. Food prices will continue to rise, insurance will get more and more expensive, building materials more demanded. That’s gonna make people poorer because their money will buy them less. And it’s because of climate change.

Yes, of course, corporate greed and capitalism.make things even worse, but the global temperature and resulting consequences are huge factor (and in themselves consequences of corporate greed and capitalism).

The most enduring challenge will probably be not to be dead

But that is often suppressed. That’s why you have to threaten people with your wallet.

Average person will be 100% deader if world warms by 4°C but everyone thinks it’s the other one who’ll die, not them.
