Maybe we should hold federal money due to climate change events if the state isn’t trying to make progress against climate change.

The Government of Putin will continue their “drill baby drill” for the oil industry, who wrecked the coastline in the first place.

Louisiana has lost its damned mind. Ever since the old Democratic governor ran out of terms they’ve just been speed-running Florida.

I dunno so much about the rest of the state, but New Orleans has been sinking since it was founded.

Large parts of the state are uncompacted sediment. It does compress and settle as a result. There are a bunch of things you can do though:

      • Stop extracting and burning fossil fuels to slow sea level rise
      • Stop the oil and gas industry from cutting channels through marshes, which causes them to erode quickly
      • Divert sediment from the Mississippi to wetland restoration, raising land levels
      • Help people move when that’s the best remaining option

Time to invest in parcels of land a bit further (currently) inland as they will be prime oceanfront real estate in a decade.

No… then You lobby the government to finally take action against coastal erosion and rake in those sweet sweet public billions to protect your private investment.
